GROUP THERAPY

Our counseling group is a welcoming space for women to build community, process the emotional challenges of the fertility journey, and feel supported by others who truly understand. Group is held every other week for 2 hours and includes a short teaching segment to help you build coping skills, followed by meaningful time to share, connect, and feel less alone.

At $50 per group, this isn’t simply a more affordable option than individual therapy — it’s the format that truly meets the emotional needs of women walking through fertility challenges. Group therapy offers something individual therapy simply can’t: the healing power of women coming together, sharing their stories, and realizing in real time that they are not alone. The support, validation, and “me too” moments that happen in a room full of women who get it can transform the entire journey.

Join us to find connection, encouragement, and a community who gets it.

FAQs

  • Fertility challenges can feel incredibly isolating, and it’s so easy to believe you’re the only one navigating this kind of grief, hope, and uncertainty. That’s why group therapy is so powerful: it brings together the therapeutic support you need and the connection your heart is craving. In this space, you’re surrounded by women who truly understand, who can sit with you in the lows and celebrate with you in the highs. Every woman on the fertility journey deserves a village: a steady circle of support, encouragement, and understanding. This group is that village.

  • Each group therapy session follows a simple, supportive flow:

    1. Settle In
Arrive, get comfortable, and reconnect with the group.

    2. Celebrations & Setbacks
Each woman shares what’s happened since the last meeting (both the wins and the hard moments), creating space for validation and connection.

    3. Topic of the Week
A brief teaching focused on a specific skill or theme, like managing anxiety, coping with uncertainty, communication, or emotional regulation.

    4. Discussion + Activity
We wrap up with a group conversation and a reflective or skill-based activity to help apply what you’ve learned.

  • Groups meet every other Monday from 5:30–7:30 pm. You’ll be able to see specific dates when you register by hitting the “Join the Village” button above.

  • We meet in our counseling office at 8900 State Line Rd. in Leawood, KS.

  • Your group leaders, Nicole and Julia, follow a strict code of ethics, which means your personal information and anything you share will never be shared outside the group by the leaders. While we can’t guarantee that other members will keep things confidential, we set an expectation that everyone respects each other’s privacy.

  • Yes, please! This helps us plan. Clicking the “REGISTER FOR GROUP” button will take you to a scheduling page. You will be able to register for that week’s group there and fill out any paperwork if you’re a first time group attender.

  • Absolutely! Group is open format. This means members are not charged for sets or packages of meetings ahead of time. The door is always open to members at each meeting, as long as paperwork has been signed. Each meeting has a different focus area. This means that meetings are modular. If a member misses a meeting, the member will also miss the topic and materials from the meeting, but you’re welcome to jump back in at the next meeting.

  • We are actively working on getting an online group going and hope to offer this soon. For now, we are starting with our in-person group in KC. Join our email list to stay tuned!

  • Yes. Both Nicole and Julia offer individual counseling through their separate private practices. Nicole sees clients through Harbor Counseling, and Julia sees clients through Relate KC. You’re welcome to schedule with either of us directly through our individual practice websites.
